MSE combines the science of chemistry, physics, biology with math and the engineering principles of mechanical, chemical, and electrical engineering. As a result, materials engineers are highly marketable.

In addition to standard materials industries such as aerospace and automotive, materials engineers are hired by mechanical, electronic, and biomedical industries and many others. Graduates of the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) have become astronauts, professors, CEOs, politicians, physicians, lawyers, and more. Materials engineering is a recession-tolerant career because graduates are not locked into a particular industry.

The following is a brief list of those companies that have specifically requested materials majors when they participate in our on-line job tracking program, career fairs and campus visits for interview sessions.
