The latest U.S. News and World Report graduate program rankings have been released, and the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) continues to be recognized among the nation’s leading programs, maintaining its position at No. 7 overall. This sustained ranking reflects the program’s strong foundation in research, education, and academic leadership within the materials science and engineering community.

MSE’s graduate program is grounded in a collaborative, interdisciplinary research environment that brings together faculty, students, and industry partners to address both foundational questions and real‑world challenges. Graduate students and faculty work across traditional and emerging areas of materials science, strengthening the program’s national profile while preparing graduates to lead in research, innovation, and service.
