Students that have already completed an undergraduate B.S. degree (for example in ECE), may be interested in obtaining a second undergraduate degree in Materials Science and Engineering.

The MSE degree complements most engineering majors very well, as all engineering disciplines rely on materials. For example, majors in electrical engineering can readily appreciate the benefit of an expertise in electronic materials and the edge it will give them in their job search!

To receive a second undergraduate degree in MSE you must satisfy the degree requirements for the second major and accumulate at least 36 hours beyond the first degree. This can usually be accomplished in three semesters.
