Matthew Drexler Selected to Receive the U.S. DOE Graduate Student Research Award
MSE undergraduate student Matthew Drexler has been selected to receive the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) award for the proposed research project, “Effect of strain on the Thermodynamics and Catalytic Activity of Atomically Thin Nanofilms,” to be conducted at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
The selection of Matthew Drexler for the SCGSR award is in recognition of outstanding academic accomplishments and the merit of the research proposal, and reflects his potential to advance the Ph.D. studies and make important contributions to the mission of the DOE Office of Science.
Associate Professor Faisal Alamgir is Drexler’s the primary graduate thesis advisor.
